Among them, VOCs (volatile organic compounds), as a major component of industrial waste gas, are extremely difficult to treat due to their diverse sources and compositions. I. Activated Carbon Adsorption and Recovery Purification Technology Adsorption and recovery technology is a simple and practical VOCs management technology. It not only effectively manages organic waste gas but also recovers organic solvents, addressing environmental pollution while creating considerable economic benefits. This technology is widely recognized by enterprises and has good market application prospects. Adsorption and recovery technology mainly uses adsorbent materials to adsorb organic solvents from waste gas and then desorbs and recovers the organic solvents. II. Regenerative Thermal Oxidation (RTO) Technology Regenerative thermal oxidation furnaces are currently the most mature, stable, and effective waste gas treatment equipment. Using advanced heat exchange technology and new honeycomb ceramic heat storage materials, the highly efficient and advanced heat exchange system ensures the effective recovery of oxidation decomposition heat, with a heat recovery rate of over 95% and a VOC purification rate of over 99%. Regenerative thermal oxidation furnaces can treat volatile organic gases (VOCs) and odors emitted during industrial production. The RTO system uses high-temperature oxidation to remove waste gas. By controlling temperature, residence time, turbulence coefficient, and oxygen content, the waste gas is converted into carbon dioxide and water vapor, and the heat released during waste gas decomposition is recovered, achieving both environmental protection and energy saving. III. Adsorption Concentration Thermal Oxidation Technology High-volume, low-concentration VOC emissions account for a large proportion of organic waste gas pollution in China. Adsorption concentration thermal oxidation technology is the most economical and effective technological approach for managing this type of waste gas. This technology organically combines adsorption concentration units and thermal oxidation units, not only meeting emission requirements but also reducing the investment and operating costs of purification equipment. High-volume, low-concentration organic waste gas is purified by adsorption and then desorbed to convert it into low-volume, high-concentration organic waste gas. The high-concentration organic waste gas then enters the thermal oxidation unit for oxidation treatment, and the heat released by the oxidation of organic matter is effectively utilized. IV. Microbial Purification Technology This process uses the metabolic activities of microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, protozoa, etc.) to oxidize and degrade odorous substances into harmless substances such as carbon dioxide, water vapor, NO3-, and SO42-. Microorganisms obtain energy to maintain their own biology and reproduction when oxidizing and degrading pollutants. Microbial purification technology has advantages such as low equipment investment costs, low operating costs, simple operation, thorough treatment, and no secondary pollution. It is particularly suitable for treating organic waste gases that are poorly water-soluble (benzene, toluene, xylene, etc.), difficult to biodegrade (nitrobenzene, methyl tert-butyl ether), and odorous waste gases such as hydrogen sulfide and ammonia. It can be widely used in oil and gas fields, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and other industries with high explosion-proof requirements.
