It involves the oxidation and incineration reaction of organic waste with a certain amount of excess air in an exhaust gas incinerator. Harmful and toxic substances in the waste are oxidized and pyrolyzed at high temperatures, thus being destroyed. It is a technology that can simultaneously achieve waste harmlessness, reduction, and resource utilization. The primary purpose of incineration is to incinerate waste as much as possible, rendering the incinerated substances harmless and maximizing volume reduction, while minimizing the generation of new pollutants and preventing secondary pollution. For large and medium-sized waste incineration plants, the three objectives are to reduce waste volume, completely incinerate toxic substances in the waste, and recover and utilize the waste heat generated. Incineration can not only handle solid waste but also liquid and gaseous waste; it can handle municipal waste and general industrial waste, as well as hazardous waste. Organic solid, liquid, and gaseous waste in hazardous waste is often treated by incineration. When incinerating municipal solid waste, the leachate and odor generated during the temporary storage process before waste incineration treatment are often introduced into the exhaust gas incinerator for incineration. Incineration is suitable for treating waste with high organic content and calorific value. When treating waste with very low combustible organic components, a large amount of fuel needs to be added, which increases operating costs. However, if a suitable waste heat recovery device is available, the above-mentioned shortcomings can be compensated for, reducing waste incineration costs and thus achieving better economic benefits.
