The operating principle of adsorption dryers


Adsorption dryers work on a principle of one tower adsorbing while another regenerates. Conventional adsorption dryers consume a certain amount of air during regeneration. So, how much air does an adsorption dryer consume during regeneration? Generally speaking, all dryers are energy-consuming devices. Although compressed air users account for costs in the form of electricity bills, many users are more concerned about compressed air consumption.

     Adsorption dryer The working method is a tower adsorption, a tower regeneration form. The regeneration process of a conventional adsorption dryer requires some gas consumption. So, how much gas does an adsorption dryer consume during regeneration?

  Generally speaking, all adsorption dryers are energy-consuming equipment. Although compressed air users list costs in the form of electricity bills, many users are more concerned about the consumption of compressed air.


  The gas consumption of adsorption dryer regeneration is the energy required to maintain the normal operation of the adsorption dryer. The regeneration energy can be entirely gas compression energy or external heating energy, but its energy carrier is entirely gas.


  Method for replacing the adsorbent in a dual-tower adsorption dryer:


  1. There are filling and discharge ports on each drying tower of the adsorption dryer. Remove the cover plate on the discharge port.


  2. To help the desiccant flow out of the tower, a small rod can be inserted into the discharge port if necessary. Because the desiccant is packaged into the tower, it may interfere with its smooth flow out of the tower.


  3. The coarse filter screens installed on the joints of the tower's inlet and outlet pipes are removable on all models. It is recommended to remove and clean these filter screens when changing the desiccant. The filter screens can be accessed after removing the upper/lower gas header from the drying tower.


  4. After cleaning the coarse filter screen of the adsorption dryer, reinstall it and plug the discharge port plug.


  5. After removing all the filling port plugs, inject the desiccant of the appropriate grade and specification. The height of the desiccant should comply with the provisions of the desiccant filling table.


   Adsorption dryer Once both towers are filled, plug the plugs of each tower's filling port again.


  7. Any joints disturbed during the desiccant replacement process should be leak-tested before the dryer is recommissioned.
