1. Drying Conditions

A clogged filter or flattened hose will reduce airflow and affect the operation of the combination dryer; a damaged filter will contaminate the desiccant and reduce its moisture absorption capacity; a damaged hose may introduce moist ambient air into the drying airflow, leading to premature moisture absorption and a high dew point of the desiccant; poorly insulated hoses and drying chambers will also affect the drying temperature.

2. Dry Air Circuit

In the dry air circuit, the drying temperature should be checked at the silo inlet to compensate for heat loss in the hoses of the combination dryer. Low air temperature at the silo inlet may be due to improper controller adjustment and lack of insulation, or failure of the heater element, heater contactor, heater, thermocouple or controller.

3. Desiccant Regeneration and Cooling

The desiccant has a limited moisture absorption capacity and therefore needs to be regenerated to remove the adsorbed moisture. The process is as follows: when ambient air is drawn in, it passes through a filter into a blower and is then sent to a set of heaters. As the desiccant temperature rises, heated air passes through the desiccant bed, and when the hot air absorbs water vapor and reaches saturation, the adsorbed moisture is released and discharged into the atmosphere. The high-temperature regenerated desiccant needs to be cooled before returning to the drying circuit to restore the desiccant's moisture absorption function.

There are five reasons for frequent start-up and tripping of the combination dryer, which should be followed during maintenance, as follows:

1. The ambient temperature of the combination dryer is high, and no cooling measures have been taken, resulting in abnormal internal conditions;

2. Poor ventilation between the space and the outside world, and heat cannot be discharged in time;

3. Unstable power supply, poor contact, etc., of the combination dryer, resulting in large voltage fluctuations;

4. The current combination dryer has a small processing capacity, but the actual demand is large, resulting in overload;

5. Failure of the control instruments of the combination dryer.

Each of the above situations will affect the operation of the combination dryer. If there is a problem of frequent start-up and tripping, first check each component in detail according to these reasons, do not miss any component, because small details are often overlooked, but this is always an important issue. Any malfunctioning part can be solved immediately, and non-existent problems can be ruled out in time. In addition, the addition of internal cooling water is sufficient, and the performance of the accessories plays a role.

If the combination dryer is fatigued due to prolonged operation, this situation should be avoided, and appropriate maintenance should be carried out after a limited time. The reason for the frequent start-up and tripping of the dryer is that the inspection is unqualified and the instructions are not followed, thereby improving awareness in this area, improving shortcomings, and ensuring stability.

Combination Dryer Start-up Operation:

1. Confirmation Combination Dryer Is the power voltage correct, is the leakage circuit breaker installed, and is the grounding work completed?

2. Is the automatic drain/drain pipe correctly installed, and will the drain pipe drain onto the machine?

3. For water-cooled types, start the cooling tower and open the cooling water valve.

4. If there is a power indicator light (power on, voltage on), press the start button (on, start) to start the machine after the power indicator light is on. If there is no power indicator light, the machine can be started directly according to the switch direction.
